I am very pleased to announce that CMH Cardio-Pulmonary Rehabilitation now offers “Ready Now” Vaping Cessation outpatient consults for teens. This is a FREE one-hour crash course and an avenue for the child to get connected with other providers on our staff for long-term success. It is important to Citizens Memorial that we partner with you and help support parents, students and schools as we tackle this epidemic TOGETHER! Parents/students can make an appointment by calling 417-328-6574. Please feel free to share this information with school leaders, counselors, parents and students.
· These outpatient consults are scheduled appointments available in the Cardio-Pulmonary Rehab department.
· They are led by Anne Bristow, registered respiratory therapist with 40+ years of experience and a master degree in education & counseling. Anne Bristow is certified for smoking cessation counseling through the American Lung Association, and she also hosts our quarterly smoking cessation classes.
· This consultation is FREE.
· We will be working on collaterals.
During this one-hour “crash course,” our goal is to provide the fundamental tools/resources for vaping cessation, establish a supportive relationship with the patient, and encourage them to seek the necessary resources and tools to help them stop vaping. But if we never see them again, we hope to equip them with the entry-level resources they will need for support to optimize their success. We hope that this new service will meet the needs of students in our service area.
